Chapman Joins DigitalOptics
James N. Chapman has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing at DigitalOptics Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tessera Technologies Inc.
Reporting to President and CEO Robert A. Young, Chapman will be responsible for the company’s global sales and marketing initiatives. These include establishing advanced microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) autofocus technology in the mobile phone market starting in 2013, Young said.
Chapman previously was president and CEO of NuCore Technology Inc., which was sold to fabless semiconductor company MediaTek Inc. in 2007. He continued in a senior advisory role at MediaTek through 2011. Before that, he held senior marketing positions at Transmeta Corp. and was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing at Cyrix Corp. He also held marketing roles at Intel Corp. in the US and Asia.
DigitalOptics manufactures imaging and optics products for consumer electronics, security, medical and automotive applications.
