Ultratech Wins Order from Semiconductor Manufacturer
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 3 -- Ultratech Stepper Inc. has received an order from a major semiconductor manufacturer for multiple Model 1500MVS systems. The multi-million-dollar order will be Ultratech's first installation at one of the customer's European facilities. Ultratech reported that the 1500MVS units, which are scheduled for delivery in the first and fourth quarters of 2000, would replace the customer's existing contact printers for use in production of power integrated circuits and other application-specific integrated circuit devices.
This is a significant order for Ultratech Stepper, said Dan Berry, the company's president and CEO. Although our systems are represented at this customer's fabs in the US, Singapore, and Europe, these new tools are destined for a site that was previously served by a major Japanese lithography supplier.
