Digital Lightwave Gets Order for Fiber Test Upgrade
CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 9 -- Digital Lightwave Inc. has received a $1.2-million order from Technology Rentals & Services (TRS) to upgrade its portable Network Information Computers (NICs) to include high-speed OC-48 testing capabilities. A unit of CIT Group, TRS provides equipment sales, rental and leasing for the telecommunications industry.
By upgrading much of their existing NIC inventory to OC-48, TRS is well positioned to meet the growing demand for high-speed optical network testing, said Gerry Chastelet, Digital Lightwave's chairman, president and CEO. This leasing distribution channel serves an important role, not only in helping communications service providers to keep pace, flexibly and affordably, with their network needs and competitive requirements, but also in introducing our latest technology to new customers.
