Edmund Optics Names Sadoulet as COO, Promotes 3 in Asia

Edmund Optics has strengthened its global and domestic leadership with the promotion of Samuel Sadoulet to chief operating officer and three appointments in its Asia-Pacific operations.

Sadoulet — a member of The Optical Society, SPIE and the Automated Imaging Association — will assume responsibility for Edmund Optics’ corporate technology, global engineering and manufacturing operations. Sadoulet was promoted to the position based on his “ability to help translate the company’s strategy and to coordinate this strategy among the key functional groups,” CEO Robert Edmund said.

The optical components supplier recently opened a new global manufacturing, customer support and distribution facility in Singapore to serve growing customer demand. (See: Edmund Optics Expands Asia-Pacific Operations) To accommodate the Asia-Pacific expansion, the company has appointed Francis Ang as senior director of global manufacturing. Ang will be responsible for the development and execution of key manufacturing projects, and will serve as advisor to the company’s operations managers worldwide.

Complementing Ang’s appointment are the promotions of Vincent Thong and Timothy Paul Kennedy. Thong has accepted the position of managing director for Edmund Optics Singapore, and Kennedy is now sales director of Asia, based out of Japan.

Thong will use his drive for customer service to run the Singapore manufacturing facility, Edmund said. In Kennedy’s new role, he will use his engineering background and his experience working in diverse countries to continue the company’s international growth.
