DRS Names President of Electro-Optical Group
DRS Technologies Inc. has named Fred L. Marion president of its Palm Bay, Fla.-based Electro-Optical Systems Group (EOSG). Marion is a 35-year veteran of the aerospace and defense industries.
Marion's most recent post was vice president of special projects, reporting to the president of the Lockheed Martin Electronics Sector. Before that he served as vice president of fire control systems for Lockheed Martin Electronics & Missiles. In this earlier role, Marion was responsible for operations, business planning and contract performance for the following programs: Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) for US Air Force F-16C/D and F-15E and US Navy F-14 aircraft; the US Army Apache Target-Acquisition Designation Sight and Pilot Night-Vision Sensor (TADS/PNVS); the Apache Longbow Fire Control Radar; the Comanche Electro-Optical Sensor System; and the Joint Strike Fighter Electro-Optical Fire Control and Tactical Sensor Suite (TSS).
