Acquisition Expands Corning’s Telecom Presence in Brazil
Corning Inc. has signed an agreement with Abengoa of Seville, Spain, to acquire its Brazilian subsidiary, Bargoa SA. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The acquisition, expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter 2013, extends Corning’s telecom portfolio and presence in Brazil. Upon closing, Bargoa will be integrated into Corning’s telecom business segment.
Bargoa of Rio de Janiero provides connectivity solutions for the rapidly growing Brazilian telecommunications market, including thermo injected products.
