Carl Zeiss Canada has expanded its reach into the Canadian clinical microscopy market through a new distribution partnership with Inter Medico of Markham, Ontario. Inter Medico will distribute Zeiss’ clinical microscopy product line to hospital markets and clinical accounts that focus on patient health care and diagnosis.

Optical fiber splicing solutions provider Vytran LLC has opened an office in Cologne, Germany, to provide product, technical and applications support to its European customers. The company, based in Morganville, N.J., also has customer support centers in Exeter, England, and in Hangzhou, China.
Defense and industrial product maker Zephyr Photonics Inc. has launched a Semiconductor Fabrication and Foundry Services business unit. The company offers a 10,000-sq-ft cleanroom at its Zephyr Cove, Nev., facility, which includes a variety of growth, processing, testing and production equipment. The facility is accredited by the Defense Microelectronics Activity as a US Trusted optoelectronics foundry and integrated circuit supplier, and is ITAR-compliant and ISO 9001:2008-certified.
