Parent Joins Laser Light Engines as CFO

David J. Parent was appointed vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Laser Light Engines Inc., a manufacturer of laser-driven illumination engines and color modules for digital projection.

Parent, with more than 20 years of financial leadership experience, will be responsible for overseeing Laser Light Engine’s finance, legal, human resources and IT operations. Parent also will help direct many of the company’s critical activities, including product development and manufacturing capabilities, following more than $15 million in private funding raised last year, said President and CEO John O’Hara.

He previously served as the CFO at Aegis Lightwave Inc., raising capital and managing acquisitions of several optical component companies, including AOFR and CardinalPoint Optics. He also was involved in the sale and post-acquisition integration of II-VI Inc. and its subsidiary Photop Technologies following II-VI’s acquisition of Aegis in 2011. Parent also was director of finance and controller for Integral Access Inc., and held a number of accounting and finance positions at National Semiconductor Corp.
