SA Photonics Promotes Browne to Vision Products GM

Dr. Michael Browne has been appointed general manager of SA Photonics’ Vision Products segment.

He will manage a team of engineers focused on building next-generation vision systems for military and commercial markets, including head-mounted displays, augmented reality and digital night vision systems, and related man-machine interfaces.

“Since starting the vision products group more than six years ago, Mike has created tremendous growth for SA Photonics, with vision product opportunities growing at more than 200% per year,” said CEO Jim Coward.

Browne has more than 20 years of business technology leadership experience, previously serving as vice president of product development for the company. Before that, he was the director of optomechanical engineering at Glimmerglass. He also has worked as a senior technical staff specialist at Kaiser Electronics (now Rockwell Collins), where he led teams that developed the head-up and head-down display suite for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jet and the touch screen for the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet fighter jet.
