Sofradir to Provide IR Imager for Air Force Tanker
Sofradir EC Inc. has been selected by Rockwell Collins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to provide high-resolution IR cameras for an Air Force tanker program.
The award supports Rockwell Collins’ contract with Boeing for the US Air Force’s KC-46 tanker and is associated with the company’s remote vision system (RVS), which permits aerial refueling at any time and under any lighting conditions. The RVS combines 2- and 3-D technologies to provide visual information to support refueling operations.
Sofradir’s cameras will be used for advanced situational awareness and in the vision system required for the aerial refueling.
