Canon Opens Research Lab in Cambridge
Digital imaging solutions provider Canon USA Inc. has opened a research laboratory in Cambridge to develop biomedical optical imaging and medical robotics technologies.
The 13,600-sq-ft Healthcare Optics Research Laboratory aims to bring medical devices to market for a variety of applications, including the detection of cardiovascular disease, brain-functional imaging, robotics-assisted surgery and miniature endoscopy.
“This new research laboratory will be a symbol of Canon’s dedication to the research and development of innovative technologies that help solve clinical challenges facing healthcare communities,” said President and CEO Joe Adachi.
Canon USA worked in conjunction with parent company, Canon Inc., to open the lab.
