PD-LD Adds 2 to Board

PD-LD Inc., a developer of Volume-Bragg Grating technology for photonic applications, has appointed Uri Abrams and Richard J. Capalbo to its board of directors, bringing the total to six members.

Abrams, PD-LD’s president, has been with the company since 1997. He has held numerous management positions, including director of operations, chief financial officer and chief operating officer, before being appointed to his current role on Jan. 3, 2011.

Capalbo is the principal of Richard Capalbo Enterprises LLC, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm that has been advising PD-LD’s executive management team since 2006. In addition to his board appointment, Capalbo has joined the company’s audit committee, replacing David Rynne.

The appointments will enhance the board’s “ability to guide the organization through its new growth cycle,” Chairman Mort Collins said.
