Newport, REO Partner on HeNe Lasers

Newport Corp. has been named exclusive global sales partner for Boulder, Colo.-based REO’s range of HeNe lasers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Newport will inventory all of REO’s HeNe products, including red, green, yellow, IR and single-frequency stabilized lasers operating at 633 nm, and will handle all sales and technical support for new customers through its global sales team.

HeNe lasers feature a true TEM₀₀ mode, low divergence and are easy to integrate, said Mark Carroll, vice president of Newport’s Instruments business unit. “As a result, they are employed in an incredibly wide range of applications in bioinstrumentation, spectroscopy, interferometry, inspection, metrology, particle measurement, holography and general research.”

The partnership is expected to provide customers with shorter delivery times and provide enhanced technical and after-sales support, said Ed Yousse, vice president of sales and marketing at REO.
