Coherent’s Dieburg Lab Achieves ISO-IEC Certification
Coherent Inc.’s laser power and energy calibration laboratory in Dieburg, Germany, has received ISO-IEC 17025:2005 accreditation.
The scope of accreditation applies to the company’s portfolio of pyroelectric laser energy sensors, thermopile laser power sensors, and meter electronics, formally recognizing the valid and appropriate use of the laboratory’s competency to carry out specific tests or calibrations. Founded in 1966, Coherent provides laser solutions to the commercial and scientific research markets.
Coherent previously became the first major commercial manufacturer of laser power and energy measurement instruments to achieve to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for its Wilsonville, Ore., calibration laboratory in May 2012. The company said this type of certification is valuable to organizations in government-regulated industries where system builders must document the traceability and performance accuracy of their own products, such as the medical, military and aerospace fields. It also eliminates the need for customers to perform consumer supplier auditing.
