Berk-Tek Hires New Fiber Optics Product Manager

Berk-Tek, a manufacturer of network copper and fiber optic cable products, has hired Ron Lindsay as its new fiber optics product business manager.

Lindsay, who received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University, is responsible for managing the fiber optic cable product line while being the interface between customers, internal sales teams, representatives, manufacturing and engineering. He replaces Mike Connaughton, who recently accepted a position as manager of the company's Data Center segment.

Lindsay spent more than 22 years of his career with Sumitomo Electric, with various roles in product management, product development and applications engineering. Most recently, he was the director of engineering and quality assurance for Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA, responsible for applications engineering for optical transceivers and corporate quality assurance. Before that, he was the director of engineering, handling new product integrations and engineering support.
