Flir Awarded $137M Navy Contract
Flir Systems has been awarded a $136.6 million contract to supply the Navy with Brite Star II gimbaled electro-optical/infrared imaging systems.
Providing intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, detection, identification and targeting capability in manned or unmanned operations, Flir’s technology will support the Navy’s UH-1 program and the Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Aerial Vehicle program. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract was awarded by the US Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Div.
In addition to the Brite Star II advanced imaging system, the contract includes Brite Star I upgrades and related spares and services. Work under the award is expected to be performed out of Flir’s Wilsonville facility and completed by August 2018.
