Vision-Sciences Makes Additional Investment in 3DV Systems
NATICK, Mass., Jan. 13 -- Vision-Sciences Inc. has completed a $1,500,000 investment in 3DV Systems Ltd., based in Yokneam, Israel. This latest transaction follows additional investments by co-investors Jeff Braun, Discount Investment Corp. Ltd. (DIC), and DIC subsidiaries PEC Israel Economic Corp. and DIC Finance and Management Ltd. Vision-Sciences reported that it now holds approximately 26 percent of 3DV Systems' common stock.
3DV Systems has developed a new three-dimensional video camera that uses proprietary technology to build a 3-D image and manipulate video objects at a high frame rate. According to Vision-Sciences, this technology can be used in applications in entertainment, videoconferencing, medical imaging, sports, broadcast studio, architectural, forensic, animation and virtual reality, as well as in CAD and CAE services.
