Achromatic Beam Expanders

Optical Surfaces Ltd. has released achromatic beam expanders with off-axis mirrors to provide unobstructed output and efficient transmission for applications in high-power lasers, laser scanning, interferometry, lidar systems and remote sensing.

The devices increase the diameter of a collimated input beam to a larger collimated output beam to form a small spot at some distance from the laser, or to extend the collimation range for illumination, or to align distant objects.

Available in 5×, 10×, 15× and 20× fixed magnifications, or in customer-specified fixed or variable magnifications, the devices can operate from the UV to the far-IR without adjustment and offer better than λ/5 surface accuracy. They are supplied in aluminum housing, can be fixed to an optical table and include alignment aids to ensure correct beam pointing.
