FBGS, 4DSP Enter Strategic Partnership
FBGS and 4DSP have joined forces to enhance the field of fiber optic sensing technology.
4DSP’s fiber optic sensing system will complement FBGS’ all grating fiber technology, affecting design, test, implementation and monitoring, and will enable engineers to multiplex thousands of sensors for accurate strain or temperature measurements and shape sensing.

“The collaboration between FBGS and 4DSP provides us with the opportunity to solve real-world problems in structural and environmental monitoring,” said Mike Pochkowski, director of sales and marketing for 4DSP.
The all grating fiber technology positions sensors adjacent to one another, making it possible to monitor changes throughout the complete structure and determine how mechanical influences at one point can affect another.

The 4DSP fiber optic sensing system, developed in conjunction with the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, has applications in industries including aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, medicine and wind energy. It offers real-time knowledge of the behavior of the component or entire structure, enabling engineers to optimize designs used in the evaluation of new materials.
