Crystal IS Names VP, Transitions to Manufacturing

John Gartner, an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing and engineering, has been named vice president of operations at Crystal IS Inc., an Asahi Kasei company.

The company, a developer of high-performance UV LEDs, is in the process of expanding its Capital Region facility as it prepares to move from R&D to full-scale production and shipping. Its products will be aimed at the life sciences, environmental monitoring and disinfection markets.
