Imax, Necsel Enter Laser Tech Partnership
In a recently signed agreement, Necsel will become the exclusive worldwide provider of specified lasers for Imax Corp.’s new projection systems.
Imax’s laser projection technology allows an array of digital content to be exhibited. The system incorporates laser digital intellectual property licensed from Eastman Kodak Co. that enables large screens to deliver high-quality digital content with greater brightness, clarity and color.
This new system will be unveiled later this year.
“Our laser projection solution represents Imax’s largest R&D investment to date,” said Robert D. Lister, chief business development officer for Imax Corp.
The partnership with Necsel will allow that company’s laser technology to further develop the next generation of digital cinema, as well as large-venue projection, laser-based simulation systems and other forms of lighting.
