Amplitude Acquires Continuum
The Amplitude group, maker of ultrafast lasers, has acquired Continuum of San Jose, Calif., from current owner GSI Group. The purchase price is roughly $7 million, according to a recent SEC filing from GSI.
Continuum supplies laser products for scientific, industrial and commercial applications.
The acquisition is expected to grow Amplitude’s workforce from 200 to 270, with sales projected to grow to $84 million, the company said.
