Trumpf Names North American CEO
Peter Hoecklin has been named president and CEO of industrial laser firm Trumpf Inc.
Meanwhile, Burke Doar has been promoted to senior vice president.
Hoecklin succeeds interim CEO Dr. Lars Gruenert, who will remain a member of the company’s managing board and was recently named chief financial officer of parent company Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG.
Hoecklin will be responsible for Trumpf’s subsidiaries and business operations in North America, including manufacturing, engineering, R&D, customer service, technical training, product sales and applications. He has a master’s degree in applied engineering and physics from Cornell University. Prior to joining Trumpf in 2003, he worked for McKinsey & Company and Emerson Electric Co.
Doar joined Trumpf in 2002 as vice president of customer service and was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing in 2003. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and received a law degree from Albany Law School. Doar also serves as the immediate past chairman of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA).
