Zecotek, Armenian Institute Collaborate on Laser Sintering Materials
Zecotek Displays Systems Pte. Ltd. is collaborating with the Institute of Chemical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences in Yerevan, Armenia, to create metal alloys for use in 3-D printing.
The Institute will work with Zecotek and LT-Pyrkal to fine-tune processes for fabricating metal powders from metal hydride compounds.
"The new materials will be used in the laser sintering-based 3-D printing [process] developed by Zecotek and LT-Pyrkal for prototyping and mass production," said Dr. Levon A. Tavadyan, director of the Institute of Chemical Physics.
The Institute is part of Russia’s International Science and Technology Centre, an intergovernmental organization connecting scientists from Russia, Georgia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Zecotek Photonics Inc. develops technologies for applications in the medical, high-tech and industrial sectors.
