Oderkerk and Uusimaa Join EPIC Board of Directors

Two company executives have joined the board of directors of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC).

Benno Oderkerk is CEO of Avantes in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, a producer of fiber optic spectroscopy systems. He has a master’s degree in electronic engineering from the Twente Technical University in Enschede, and has worked at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, the University of the Bundeswehr in Germany and at STM Sensor Technology Munich.

Dr. Petteri Uusimaa is CEO of laser maker Modulight in Tampere, Finland, and vice chairman of the Photonics Finland association. He has a doctorate in semiconductor physics from Tampere University of Technology, and has overseen sales of semiconductor components and laser systems to multinational companies since 1977.
