Third-Quarter Sales Improve at Inrad
Losses at Inrad Optics Inc. decreased in the third quarter as it finished consolidating its manufacturing and higher sales in the defense, process control and metrology markets.
The third-quarter net loss was $91,000, compared to a loss of $239,000 in the third quarter of 2013. Revenue was $2.9 million, up 5.7 percent from $2.8 million in the third quarter of 2013.
Although sales were up in the third quarter, the company said year-to-date sales to customers in the defense, university and national laboratory market have decreased compared to last year.
Inrad specializes in crystal-based optical components and devices, custom glass and metal optical components, and precision optical and optomechanical assemblies.
