OZ Optics Completes New Components Testing
OZ Optics Ltd. says its new line of optical taps and power monitors for telecommunications met industry standards in recent testing.
The inline taps are built with ordinary single-mode fiber and polarization-maintaining fibers. They are manufactured using a patented design that permits full automation, reducing manufacturing costs.
For packaging devices that rely on optical feedback, the taps can be directly integrated into fiber pigtail assemblies. This allows the main device and monitor photodiode to be packaged into a single housing.
The taps may also be integrated into optical amplifiers, dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems and fiber networks for real-time monitoring and feedback.
The company’s optical power monitors combine the optical tap design with a photodiode in a single package and produce a current proportional to the optical power within the fiber.
