Edmund, Fisba Partner on IR Glass-Molded Optics
Edmund Optics Inc. and Fisba Optik LLC of Tucson, Ariz., have teamed up to produce IR optics using nontraditional materials.
The new components will be suited for life sciences applications such as thermal imaging and laser surgery, as well as industrial and environmental applications in remote sensing and thermal imaging for detection and security.
Combining Fisba’s process engineering and production technologies in glass molding with Edmund’s capabilities in broad-based optical components, sales and manufacturing, the partnership is expected to yield new additions to Edmunds’ standard product line, as well as custom components for each of the companies’ OEM customers.
Fisba Optik LLC is a subsidiary of Fisba Optik AG of Switzerland.
