Photronics Promotes Kirlin to CEO

A new CEO will take over photomask manufacturer Photronics Inc. on May 4.

Dr. Peter Kirlin, currently the company’s president, will succeed CEO Constantine “Deno” Macricostas, who will continue as executive chairman of the Photronics board of directors.

Kirlin joined the company in 2008 as senior vice president for the U.S. and Europe and was promoted to president in 2013.

Prior to joining Photronics, he spent 25 years in leadership positions in the photomask and semiconductor industries, including as vice president of business development at Entegris Inc., chairman and CEO of DuPont Photomasks Inc. and group vice president of ATMI Inc. He was also executive chairman of the privately-held Akrion Inc.

Kirlin has a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a doctorate from the University of Delaware, both in chemical engineering.

Photronics develops precision quartz photomasks used in the manufacture of semiconductors and flat-panel displays. For more information, visit www.photronics.com.
