Kramer to Head Business Development for New Scale Technologies

New Scale Technologies Inc. has named Jeff Kramer vice president of business development, responsible for developing strategic deals and partnerships with key customers of the company’s miniature motion systems.

Kramer has more than 30 years of experience in engineering design, engineering management, product marketing and OEM account management in the optoelectronics, spectroscopy, semiconductor, laser, and medical. scientific and industrial analytical instrument markets.

Previously he worked for Newport Corp., where he was new business development manager for the Richardson gratings division in Rochester, N.Y. Prior to that, he was marketing manager for MKS Instruments Inc.'s ENI products division in Rochester, N.Y., where he was responsible for product line profit and loss, international technical sales, and product strategy.

He previously held research engineering and managerial roles at the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics, serving as deputy project manager for the Omega EP high-energy inertial confinement fusion laser project. He has additional experience at Zecal Technology LLC, Telog Instruments Inc., Tycos Life Sciences (a division of Sybron Corp.) and Metrosonics Inc. He also designed and patented a hand-held therapeutic recording instrument for Digital Therapeutics LLC.

Kramer has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business from Simon Business School, University of Rochester.

New Scale Technologies develops motion systems for adjustments of optics in imaging devices and many other micropositioning applications.
