Berliner Glas Expands Optical Coatings Facilities
The coating and surfaces division of Berliner Glas KGaA has expanded and moved to new premises.
The company has installed 9687 square meters of new ISO Class 5 to 7 cleanrooms and optimized the layout of its systems, measuring equipment and inventory to improve processes, increase efficiency, enhance reliability and safety, and extend the potential for processing a variety of products.
Berliner Glas develops optics, mechanics and electronics for OEMs. Its coating and surfaces division produces optical coatings used in telecommunications and medical technologies with wavelengths from the UV (190 nm) to the IR (6 μm, with metal mirrors up to 12 μm).
