UTC Provides Imaging Systems for Cirrus Observation Aircraft
UTC Aerospace Systems (part of United Technologies Corp.) will provide imaging systems for the Perception special mission aircraft from Cirrus Aircraft Corp. of Duluth, Minn.
UTC's Cloud Cap Technology TASE400 and TASE500 imaging systems provide all-HD imagery, providing operators with improved situational awareness in nearly all weather conditions, a digital imaging chain for maximized processing capability and an optimized lens design for enhanced object recognition. The systems allow automatic tracking of fixed or moving targets, and facilitates reporting on the location of activity.
Perception introduces a new style of reconfigurable special-mission aircraft, converting from a standard aircraft to an advanced observation platform, according to Cirrus. It is intended for law enforcement, mapping, broadcasting and related markets.
