Exfo Wins Multimillion-Dollar Fiber-Monitoring Contract
Fiber communications firm Exfo Inc. said it has received a multimillion-dollar order from an Asia-Pacific government entity for its NQMSfiber monitoring system.
The system will be used to oversee a high-speed IP/MPLS network spanning more than 3000 km.
Allowing real-time detection of optical fiber cuts, bends and degradation, the system consists of optical time-domain reflectometers that provide high-resolution loss measurement along fiber links. The units are combined with a Web-based element management system, offering users centralized access to results.
