Michael Lebby Joins Lightwave Logic Board of Directors
Lightwave Logic Inc. has appointed Dr. Michael Lebby to its board of directors to oversee photonic device development as a member of the operations committee.
Lebby is an inventor in the field of optoelectronics, with more than 200 U.S. utility patents and 195 international derivatives. He is the former head of the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association and a fellow and member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and The Optical Society (OSA). He brings a range of experience from his work with Intel Capital Optoelectronics, AT&T Bell Labs, Motorola's photonics R&D lab, Oclaro and his own fiber optics startups.
Earlier this year, Lebby completed a set of integrated photonics technology road maps for the national Institute of Manufacturing Innovation competition, laying out industry needs for transmission speeds of 400 Gbps, 800 Gbps and beyond.
Lightwave Logic is a development-stage company that produces prototype electro-optic demonstration devices and is moving toward the commercialization of its high-activity, high-stability organic polymers for applications in electro-optical devices. Over the past two years, the company has transitioned from a solely organic polymer materials development company to a developer of next-generation photonic devices for the data and telecommunications markets.
