3D-Micromac Names Carsten Swiatkowski CTO
Dr. Carsten Swiatkowski has been appointed chief technology officer of laser micromachining firm 3D-Micromac AG.
Swiatkowski will take charge of technical management, heading the company divisions of engineering and process development. He brings more than 20 years of experience in laser technology, as well as branch knowledge.
"I'm looking forward immensely to my new tasks and I believe that, particularly in the area of laser systems for photovoltaics and for the semiconductor industry, many opportunities exist in international markets, which we want to use even more intensively with the new customer and market direction,” Swiatkowski said.
In his most recent position, Swiatkowski worked at the photovoltaic manufacturer Hanwha Q Cells GmbH as senior manager in technology development. His responsibilities included the selection, acquisition, and implementation of new laser systems and wet benches, the transfer of technology to production sites, and the development and implementation of the technology road map for associated cell-manufacturing processes.
After studying physics at the Technical University of Berlin, Swiatkowski worked in the semiconductor industry as a planner and developer for measurement systems. He also worked at an international medical engineering company where he was responsible for medical laser system development, later managing the sales and marketing division of that same company.
