Andrew Boorn Named CEO of Tornado Spectral Systems

Dr. Andrew Boorn has been named CEO of Tornado Spectral Systems Inc., a developer of real-time optical process analyzers and imaging solutions.

Boorn currently serves as chairman of the company's board of directors. He is a senior executive with more than 30 years of global experience in scientific- and technology-based businesses, previously serving as president of Bruker Corp.’s chemical and applied markets division, chief operating officer of AB Sciex Pte. Ltd. and president of MDS Analytical Technologies Inc.

He has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Thames Polytechnic, a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Toronto.

Tornado Spectral Systems offers spectroscopy instruments that deliver real-time discrimination for chemical analysis and process control. It creates components for optical systems, both in free-space spectroscopy and integrated photonics, or spectroscopy-on-chip applications.
