SAS Places Order for InnoLas Solar Cell Processing Machines
Solar cell manufacturer Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) has placed an order with InnoLas Solutions GmbH for five ILS-TT high-throughput laser machines for processing passivated emitter rear cell (PERC) technology.
InnoLas first supplied its laser machines to Sunrise Global Solar Energy Co. Ltd. in 2013 before it was merged into SAS. After an assessment of laser machines from different vendors, SAS decided to continue with InnoLas.
With this recent machine order, placed at the 2015 European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference, InnoLas is the exclusive supplier of laser machines for SAS's 800-MW production capacity of PERC-type solar cells. InnoLas said its ultrafast laser contact opening process helps increase solar cell efficiency, reducing the overall cost of solar power.
Headquartered in Krailling, Germany, InnoLas Solutions provides laser systems for micromaterials processing, with applications in semiconductors, electronics and precision engineering.
