Lumentum Appoints Chris Pfistner VP of Product Line Management

Lumentum Holdings Inc. has appointed Chris Pfistner vice president of product line management for data communications products.

In the newly created position, Pfistner will report to Alan Lowe, Lumentum's president and CEO.

Pfistner brings 20 years of marketing, product definition, and senior leadership experience. Most recently, he was the senior director of marketing at Finisar. He has also held senior marketing position with NeoPhotonics, Terawave, AFC and Pirelli.

Pfistner earned his Ph.D. in applied physics with a concentration in lasers, as well as his M.S.E.E. and B.S.E.E. degrees, from the University of Berne, Switzerland.

Lumentum manufactures optical and photonic products for optical networking and commercial lasers for applications including telecommunications, enterprise, and data center networks. The company is one half of the former JDS Uniphase Corp., which split in August 2015. The remaining JDSU divisions — now called Viavi Solutions Inc. — are focused on network enablement and optical security products.
