GSI Group to Acquire Lincoln Laser for $11M
GSI Group Inc. will acquire the assets of Lincoln Laser Co. of Phoenix for $11 million in cash.
A provider of polygon scanners and other optical scanning technology for the medical, food processing, and advanced industrial markets, Lincoln Laser will integrate within Cambridge Technology, a GSI business unit.
"As the functionality of lasers becomes faster and more precise, we are now well-positioned to provide the latest in ultrafast beam-steering solutions to our customers," said Chris Tecca, president of Cambridge Technology.
Cambridge Technology designs, develops and manufactures beam-steering technology, including galvanometer-based optical scanning components, two- and three-axis scan heads, scanning subsystems, high-power scanning heads, and controlling hardware and software. Key applications include advanced industrial processes, medical microscopy, ophthalmology and optical coherence tomography.
GSI Group and its subsidiaries design, develop, manufacture and sell precision photonics and motion-control components and subsystems to OEMs in the medical and advanced industrial markets. The company has reported 2015 third-quarter adjusted revenue of $92.3 million, or 19 cents diluted earnings per share.
