FocalSpec Expands Optical Measurement Sales, Support to North America

FocalSpec Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of line confocal imaging (LCI) sensors and optical measurement systems, has launched FocalSpec Inc., a U.S. subsidiary based in Cumming, Ga.

The new company will provide sales with technical and application support for its customers throughout North America. FocalSpec described the opening of U.S. operations as a response to market research, existing relations with North American early adopters and high customer interest.

"The customers we work with have increasingly demanding needs for 3D and surface quality measurements where traditional technologies, such as lasers or coordinate measuring machines, do not work well," said Juha Saily, sales manager for FocalSpec Inc. "Our unique LCI imaging technology doesn't suffer from most of the limitations that other methods are subject to, and we want to be closer to the customer in bringing a working solution."

FocalSpec plans to make its entire product line available to North America, with several product launches planned in the coming months.
