Dilas, m2K to Merge
Dilas Diodenlaser GmbH of Mainz, Germany, and m2K-Laser of Freiburg, Germany, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc., have merged.
The company cite m2k-Laser’s product supply for Dilas as the catalyst for the transaction. The combined unit will operate under the Dilas brand.
With diode laser chip design and epitaxial service from Freiburg, and diode laser packaging, beam shaping and systems technology from Mainz, the company says the two sites will provide complementary technologies, as their merger is a “strategic and logical consequence of the long-term cooperation” they have had for years.
Dilas designs, develops and manufactures quality high-power, high-brightness semiconductor laser components, modules and systems including fiber-coupled products for worldwide distribution. m2k-Laser designs, develops and manufactures innovative high-power and high-brightness diode lasers. Rofin manufactures laser cutting, welding and marking systems for industrial material processing.
