Controp Secures NATO Contract for IR Observation Systems
Controp Precision Technologies Ltd. said it will supply 90 of its advanced Shapo systems for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) army patrol vehicles.
Shapo is an ultralightweight, gyro-stabilized electro-optical (EO), IR day/night observation system designed for flexible EO payload deployment on multimission patrol vehicles. The system delivers the benefits of a built-in thermal imaging camera in one package with a continuous zoom lens, advanced image enhancement, automatic target tracker and picture-in-picture.
Shapo offers a range of communication interfaces to host platform including RS-422, ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553. Its operating control unit has been ruggedized to survive the harshest environmental conditions, the company said.
Controp specializes in the development and production of high performance electro-optical and precision motion control systems, with its advanced product lines providing innovative solutions for surveillance and reconnaissance activities.
