Global Crossing Adds Spain, Scandinaviato Pan European Net
LONDON, Mar. 15 -- Global Crossing has extended its pan-European fiber-optic network to Spain and Scandinavia. The network now includes five cities in Spain, including Madrid and Barcelona, and three cities in Scandinavia, including Stockholm and Oslo. Global Crossing's network is comprised of more than a million kilometers of actual fiber installed over a 23,000-km route.
Wim Huisman, president of Global Crossing's European operations, called the expansion a major step in the development of a seamless global network to connect Europe with the US, Asia and Latin America via undersea cables. We are now bringing to Spain and Scandinavia not only world class connectivity, but also high-speed and ultra-reliable communications services that will continue to enable our customers to conduct their business on a truly global scale, Huisman commented.
