Alcatel Opens Network Operations Center in Dallas
DALLAS, April 14 -- Alcatel announced that it has opened a Customer Network Operations Center (CNOC) in Dallas, and that it has signed an agreement with Pac-West Telecomm Inc. as its first customer. Alcatel said the CNOC provides a broad range of proactive network surveillance and monitoring services via a redundant, fiber optic SONET ring.
As part of the agreement with Pac-West, Alcatel will monitor Pac-West's main transmission network, which is comprised primarily of Alcatel equipment. The elements of Pac-West's network that are to be monitored by the CNOC provide service to more than 100,000 customers in California, Nevada and Washington, Alcatel noted.
