Veeco's Ion Tech Gets Order from Filter Manufacturer

FT. COLLINS, Colo., April 17 -- Veeco Instruments Inc. said that its Ion Tech Inc. subsidiary has received a blanket order worth $7.6 million from a US manufacturer of dense wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) filters. The orders for Veeco's Spector optical coating ion beam deposition systems were booked in the first quarter of 2000; the company has scheduled deliveries to take place within the next year.
Gerald Isaacson, Ion Tech's president, said, We are pleased to report the receipt of this order from one of our important customers, a leading producer of dense WDM filters. In its race to ramp production of next generation filters, we are gratified that this company has chosen to partner with Veeco/Ion Tech for ion beam deposition systems.
