Agilent Acquires American Holographic Inc.
PALO ALTO, Calif., April 28 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. has acquired American Holographic Inc., which is to become a wholly owned subsidiary within Agilent's Communication Solutions Group. American Holographic will remain at its present facility in Fitchburg, Mass.
The acquisition of American Holographic strengthens our optical communications expertise and significantly improves our ability to respond quickly to meet customer needs, commented Tom White, senior vice president and general manager of Agilent's Communications Solutions Group. Tom Mikes, American Holographic's president and CEO, said, We firmly believe this acquisition provides the technological synergy that will allow us to more quickly develop, manufacture and market our next generation of gratings. American Holographic's components and modules are used in fiber-optic communications, optical test equipment, pulse compression, spectrographs and other industrial, research and scientific applications.
