James Mazzo Appointed Zeiss Ophthalmology President
Medical technology company Carl Zeiss Meditec AG has appointed James Mazzo as its global president of ophthalmology.
Mazzo will oversee the ophthalmology strategic business unit and the U.S. Sales and Service Center. He spent more than 20 years leading Allergan’s North American and European eye care organizations and led its public spinoff of AMO as chairman and CEO. In 2009, Abbott Labs purchase AMO and selected Mazzo as executive vice president. He left Abbott in 2013 to become executive chair and CEO of AcuFocus and executive chair of Neurotech.
Carl Zeiss Meditec AG manufactures eye examination tools, medical lasers and solutions for neurosurgery, dentistry, gynecology and oncology.
