BuildIT Acquired by Faro

3D measurement and imaging technology developer Faro Technologies Inc. has acquired BuildIT Software & Solutions Ltd., a provider of process-configurable 3D metrology software solutions with hardware-agnostic interfaces.

"The acquisition of BuildIT bolsters Faro's complementary suite of software solutions for our metrology customers," said Simon Raab, president and CEO of Faro. "By adding BuildIT to our metrology portfolio, our customers now have even greater software options for use in a variety of 3D metrology manufacturing applications to reduce inspection and assembly times and increase productivity.”

The BuildIT software will be introduced by Faro through a targeted campaign for customizable, in-process solutions that integrate metrology devices and sensors from multiple manufacturers.

Faro is a developer and marketer of computer-aided measurement and imaging devices and software. BuildIT is a developer of software for real-time part inspection, tool building, assembly, alignment, measurement process automation, reverse engineering and quality assurance.
