Preco Receives Order From Senai
Laser system manufacturer Preco Inc. has announced a $1.8 million order for a high-powered, multilaser development and manufacturing cell from the Brazilian Senai Institute of Laser Innovation in Joinville, Brazil.
Preco will be providing Senai with a highly flexible, SL-8600 hybrid laser/metal inert gas system based on Cartesian machine tool motion configured for industrial, laser-based production or development. The system includes two high-powered lasers, one 10-kW disk laser and one 6-kW diode laser. The system will be capable of hybrid laser welding, additive manufacturing, surface and heat treatment and other high-powered laser processing development.
Senai is a private, nonprofit technical training organization, aiming to raise industrial competitiveness by promoting innovation and offering technological solutions for the development of products and processes through laser welding, additive manufacturing and surface hardening technology. Preco is a manufacturer of standard and custom lasers and die-cutting systems including laser cutting and welding machines.
