Menlo Grants Optical Frequency Comb License to Toptica
Diode and fiber laser developer Toptica Photonics AG has entered into a license agreement with measurement and optics technology developer Menlo Systems GmbH for the use of optical frequency combs.
More specifically, the agreement pertains to the use of U.S. patent 6,724,788, “Method and device for generating radiation with stabilized frequency.”
Menlo, the exclusive licensee of a patent owned by Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH, grants a nonexclusive sublicense to Toptica. The license allows Toptica to commercialize frequency comb technology in the U.S., based on difference frequency generation.
Toptica develops diode and fiber lasers and laser systems for scientific and industrial applications. Menlo develops optical frequency combs, terahertz systems and femtosecond fiber lasers.
